We can also offer onsite support on the day each individual is notified of their retrenchment. People feel better supported by the organisation if they have a chance to speak with someone independent of the organisation, before they leave the premises after the termination.

This will allow the person to vent any negative reactions appropriately, talk about how they will get home and manage themselves over the following few days. For some people it is extremely difficult to tell family, friends and colleagues about the change in their job situation. The people who remain in the organisation will feel more positive about the restructure if they know their former colleague has been well looked after, this will have a positive impact on their morale and productivity.
